Sunday Duties
Filey Sailing Club is run by members for members. It is a condition of membership that full and adult family members are required to undertake a minimum of 2 duty days per year.
Members are asked to give as many dates (min 3) as possible as early as possible to make the process of allocating duties easier. In the Duty Roster section after you login you can volunteer for duties already volunteered for, the Duty Coordinator will assign duties between people applying. If you can do more than 2 duties, this is very much appreciated, please advise the Duty Coordinator.
The duties are as follows:
- Officer Of the Day
- Assistant to Officer Of the Day
- Support boat helm (Powerboat level 2 required, Safety Boat qualification desirable)
- Support boat crew (Must be willing and able to get in the water)
- Galley Lead
- Galley Assistant
- Shore Duty
Volunteers are also sought to help with catering or running open events. Besides duties of the type listed above, other open events tasks may include: reception, traffic control, additional beach team, bar, and results.
Duty forms are contained within the downloadable renewals pack in the renewals section. Please scan and email form to FAO Eamonn Cotter at fileysc@gmail.com
If you would like any training in any of the types of duties please email FAO Tony Busfield at fileysc@gmail.com
A number of duty guides are attached, please feel free to suggest improvements or edits
