Filey Sailing Club Open Regatta 2024

This weekend was my first regatta as Commodore. I am immensely proud of all the volunteers from Filey Sailing club who all worked so hard, not just this weekend but in the planning and preparation over the past few weeks to make the event a big success, despite the unseasonable weather!

I don't wish to single anyone out but I do need to give special thanks to Carol Milner for all the behind the scenes arrangements as well as working so hard to get the results out. Also Carl Whitehead for doing a superb job as OD and Phil Robinson (legend) for stepping up at short notice as OD on the WL course. Special thanks to Paul Wilson for organising all the safety crews and Judy Burton for the catering.

I would also like to thank Filey and Scarborough Sea Cadets and Scarborough Yacht Club for their support.

Feedback received from our visitors has all been very positive, and they are planning to return next year.

Well done everyone, now that the hard work is over we can enjoy the rest of our club season
